Jayhawk OK again on KU business cards

Kansas University faculty and staff can keep the Jayhawk on their business cards.

Lynn Bretz, university communications director, said KU now will permit use of the Jayhawk logo on business cards – a reversal of previous plans barring the bird from all business cards except those used by the athletic department and Alumni Association.

Under the old plan – part of a “visual identity” overhaul – faculty and staff were required to use the official “KU” logo on business cards.

Bretz said she discussed the issue with faculty and staff and determined it was best to give them the option to use the Jayhawk or the “KU” signature.

Bretz was promoted to her position in July after Paul Carttar’s job of executive vice chancellor for external affairs was dissolved and Carttar moved to the post of special assistant to the chancellor.
