County to discuss rural road access

Douglas County commissioners will discuss changes to and consider adopting road access management and classification codes during tonight’s meeting.

The document had been part of a package of rural development and subdivision regulations approved last week. It was removed for additional discussion and fine-tuning.

One of the key access provisions is requiring a 330-foot road frontage for residential properties on county roads and a 250-foot corner clearance.

Commissioners also will honor County Appraiser Marion Johnson, who recently was appointed president of the International Association of Assessing Officers.

The meeting starts at 6:35 p.m. in the county courthouse, 1100 Mass.
