Season a travesty
To the editor:
This Kansas University football season has become a travesty. Early on, we were led to believe that the Jayhawks had reloaded on defense and a new, great offense was going to return them to being competitive. The coaching staff would have been more prudent to present a less enthusiastic forecast for this season.
Of course, a new coaching contract was imminent, so some overstatement was probable. In my 50-plus years of following KU football, I can’t recall a past team less prepared to maintain a lead, and then lose in the final moments against some very average football teams.
