Rollover injures three, closes K-10 lanes

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a one-vehicle rollover wreck early Thursday that sent two people to the hospital.

The wreck happened at 12:34 a.m. on Kansas Highway 10 about halfway between Lawrence and Eudora. The vehicle, a 1996 Chevrolet Blazer, rolled after the driver lost control for an unknown reason. Both eastbound lanes of K-10 were blocked for about 45 minutes, and traffic was down to one lane for about an hour longer.

A 20-year-old from Overland Park was flown by air ambulance with injuries that weren’t thought to be life-threatening. A 21-year-old from Overland Park went to Lawrence Memorial Hospital by ground ambulance, and a 20-year-old from Merriam was treated at the scene. Their names had not been released as of Thursday evening.

Sheriff’s spokeswoman Kari Wempe said the cause remained under investigation Thursday.
