Lawrence High defeated Shawnee Mission East 12-3 to run its season football mark to 4-0 and extend its latest winning streak to eight games.

By a vote of 81-62, the stockholders of the Lawrence Country Club decided to authorize the board of directors to develop more detailed plans and estimates of costs for a new clubhouse complex. A later meeting was to determine how large and extensive the project should be. It was doubtful, however, that members would approve one early proposal calling for about $600,000 in new expenditures for the clubhouse layout.
