Rapper Jadakiss arrested for 2nd time on gun charges

Yonkers, N.Y. – Rapper Jadakiss was arrested for alleged weapon possession after a traffic stop early Saturday, his second arrest on gun charges since 2004, authorities said.

Jadakiss, whose real name is Jason Phillips, was one of four people inside the car, Detective Sgt. Joseph Pietropaolo said. He said all four were charged with criminal possession of a weapon because a loaded handgun was found inside the vehicle.

Jadakiss, a Yonkers native, released his first solo album, “Kiss the Game Goodbye,” in 2001. His most recent album was “Kiss of Death,” and he had a hit single “U Make Me Wanna” that featured Mariah Carey.

Farrah Fawcett stays positive despite cancer diagnosis

Los Angeles – Farrah Fawcett, recently found to have cancer, said Friday she is maintaining a positive attitude and expects to recover completely.

“I am determined to bite the bullet and fight the fight while going through the next six weeks of cutting edge, state-of-the-art treatment,” the 59-year-old actress said in a statement. “I should be able to return to my life as it was before.”

Her publicist, Mike Pingel, didn’t reveal what kind of cancer Fawcett has but said it was recently diagnosed and involves a fast-growing tumor.

“I deeply believe in one’s own positive will to overcome even the most daunting challenges,” she said.

Doherty’s band postpones tour for his drug rehab

London – The band Babyshambles has postponed the remainder of its British tour to give frontman Pete Doherty more time to undergo drug rehabilitation treatment, his record company said Saturday.

Babyshambles postponed its five remaining dates to allow Doherty’s “excellent” efforts at overcoming his addiction to continue, EMI said.

Last month Doherty, in court on drugs charges, avoided jail after a judge said she was “impressed” with his attempts to beat his addiction.

The singer had pleaded guilty to five counts of possessing heroin, cocaine and cannabis. He was allowed to continue his drug treatment and told he would be sentenced in December.

Jamie Lee Curtis closes book on acting to focus on family

Los Angeles – Jamie Lee Curtis said she has closed the book on her acting career.

“I’m not an actor anymore,” she told “Access Hollywood” host Nancy O’Dell. “I really don’t imagine I’ll do that again.”

Curtis, 46, went on to say, “I’m just focused on my family and just can’t imagine anything that’s going to pull me away from them right now.”

‘Whale Rider’ actress, 16, expecting baby with boyfriend

New York – Keisha Castle-Hughes is growing up fast.

The 16-year-old actress, who was nominated for a best-actress Oscar for her role in 2002’s “Whale Rider,” is expecting a baby in the spring, the agency that represents her confirmed Friday.

The father is her boyfriend of three years, Bradley Hull, 19.

Castle-Hughes will be seen next as Mary in “The Nativity Story,” set for release Dec. 1.
