Timothy Muetz, 16, son of Eric Muetz and Lorna Clarke, Lawrence, received the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank in Boy Scouting, on Oct. 2 during an Eagle Court of Honor ceremony.

Tim is a member of Troop 53, chartered to Christ Community Church of Lawrence. He has been a member of Troop 53 since 2001.

His scouting career started in 1996 with Quail Run Pack 3072. Tim earned the highest Cub Scout award, the Arrow of Light.

As a member of Troop 53, Tim has been assistant patrol leader and senior patrol leader. Tim earned 23 merit badges and is an Ordeal member of the Order of the Arrow.

Tim attended summer camp at Camp Alexander in Colorado three times and participated in Scouting’s high adventure camp at Philmont Scout Ranch in Cimarron, N.M.

His Eagle Scout service project consisted of designing and installing a retaining wall to stop erosion and a gated fence to enclose garden equipment at the parsonage of Corpus Christi Catholic Church.

Tim is a junior at Free State High School and is on the cross country and track teams.

Boy Scout Troop 59, chartered to First Presbyterian Church, had its fall Court of Honor with a potluck dinner at Centennial Park.

Brendan Desetti served as master of ceremonies. Sam Corkins, Patrick Fay, Jack Hearnen, Riley King, Alex Kong, Scott Ragan, Ben Seybert, Adam Wangler and James Windholz received Star Scout rank. Connor Caldwell, Henry Chapman, John Fredrickson, Jonathan Gabler, Derrick Weishaar and Eric Yowell became Life Scouts. Andrew Clancy, an Eagle Scout, received his Bronze Palm award.

The Roman Catholic Church religious award, the Ad Altare Dei, was given to Henry Chapman and Josh Ostermann.

Brock Norwood concluded his six-month term as senior patrol leader, and passed the troop colors to James Windholz.

Scoutmaster Mark Stogsdill received the President’s Award of Merit, and Philip Struble received a certificate naming him a “True Scout” for his work and many years of service as the troop’s chartered organization representative.

Jon Standing completed the Wood Badge, the highest level of training for adult Scouters.

Cub Scout Pack 3057, chartered to St. John School PTO, had a summer event Aug. 26 at the Lawrence Aquatic Center.

Scouts from Troop 55, chartered to West Side Presbyterian Church, camped Aug. 18-20 at Camp Bromelsick. The theme of the weekend was “Get Wet and Have Fun.” Activities included swimming, fishing, archery, canoeing and kayaking.

Archery winners were Isaac Remboldt, first; Bryce Baringer, second; and Steven Howe, third. Barb Norris had the “best shot.”

New Ordeal members of the Order of the Arrow were Jaron Brynds, Alek Joyce, Stefan Kuczera and Sue Reiske, while Harry Smith, Michael Smith, Doug Rawlings, Brendan Gollege, Tim Barta and Dominik Reiske advanced to Brotherhood. New Vigil members from the troop were Mike McCurdy, Ralena McCurdy and Justin Deaver. Dominick Reiske earned his Boy Scout Lifeguard certification, and Michael Smith and Wesley Tedlock earned their Mile Swim award at summer camp.
