KU professor appointed to board

Burdett Loomis, a professor of political science at Kansas University, has been appointed to a four-year term on the Public Employee Relations Board by Gov. Kathleen Sebelius.

The board is designed to resolve labor disputes and promote good working relationships between public employers and employee organizations, including oversight for relations and agreements between government entities and employees’ unions.

Loomis’ appointment, announced Wednesday, has been confirmed by the Kansas Senate.
