Law enforcement report

¢ The Kansas Highway Patrol was investigating a report Tuesday that a driver on U.S. Highway 24-40 left the roadway and crashed into Stranger Creek at mile marker 182 a few miles east of Tonganoxie. According to a police dispatcher’s narrative, a male driver was in a GMC sport utility vehicle around 7:30 p.m. when he left the roadway, went into the ditch and then into the river. The driver survived the crash, but further details were not available Tuesday evening. The Kansas Highway Patrol was on the scene until about 9:30 p.m.

¢ Fifteen officers from the Leavenworth County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. office of Immigration and Customs Enforcement served warrants early Tuesday in Linwood and took three people into custody on suspected immigration violations, the sheriff’s office said Tuesday.
