Insurance executive elected park trustee

Bob Johnson Jr., senior vice president for Lawrence-based Charlton Manley Insurance, recently was elected to serve a three-year term on the Board of Trustees for the National Recreation and Park Assn., a not-for-profit organization that supports parks, recreation and conservation efforts.

The Oct. 14 announcement came during NRPA’s 41st Annual Congress & Exposition in Seattle.

“Bob : has supported the park and recreation movement and NRPA’s mission on many levels throughout his career,” said Ronald Lehman, association chairman. “His expertise and leadership skills will help NRPA achieve its organizational goals and strategic plan.”

Johnson has been with Charlton Manley since 1985 and is a leading sales producer.

He is chairman of the Blue Valley Recreation Commission, whose members are appointed by the Blue Valley school board. The commission offers hundreds of youth and adult programs; classes and activities include swimming, gymnastics, visual and performing arts, individual and team sports and more.
