Caroline H. (Bergman) Eddinger, Lawrence, is among 21 candidates in Kansas to successfully pass an exam offered by the Kansas Board of Accountancy during July and August.

Passing the exam is the first step toward becoming a certified public accountant. Candidates then take an ethics exam to qualify for receiving a CPA certificate.

Eddinger, who works at Mize, Houser & Co., received her certificate Oct. 17.
