Thanks and congratulations go to the city crews and others for the job they did in getting both Oak Hill and Memorial Park cemeteries ready for Memorial Day this year.

Both cemeteries were mowed and groomed and looked their best for the occasion. In the sunshine of Saturday and Sunday, the brilliant flowers, the wind-swept displays of flags, the touching tributes all combined to provide an uplifting sense of hope and remembrance on a solemn occasion. Monday’s gray and rainy skies perhaps brought a reflective and sober mood to close the holiday weekend.

All those who visited the cemeteries to honor loved ones certainly recognized and appreciated the care and effort that had been done in preparation for the weekend’s activities.
