“We see a very slight chance for a thunderstorm today,” said Jennifer Schack, 6News meteorologist.

Shack said today’s skies will be partly cloudy, with the high reaching 83 degrees.

The average high temperature for this date is 81 degrees. The record high was 101 degrees, set in 1934.

At 7 a.m., Lawrence Municipal Airport’s temperature was 65 degrees, the humidity was 93 percent and winds were out of the southeast at 3 mph.

The average low temperature for this date is 60 degrees. The record low was 47 degrees, set in 1897.

Lawrence had about 0.10 of an inch of rain Tuesday night, no precipation after midnight, Schack said.

The National Weather Service says the chance of thunderstorms is 50 percent today, 30 percent tonight and 20 percent on Thursday afternoon.

Schack said Thursday’s morning temperature will be 60 degrees, with the high reaching 84 on Thursday afternoon. Thursday’s skies will be partly cloudy, she said.

Friday’s morning low will be 62 degrees. Friday’s high will be 85, she said.
