Lawrence native hired to direct state board

Lawrence native Angela Nordhus was recently hired as executive director of the Kansas State Child Death Review Board.

Kansas Atty. Gen. Phill Kline and board members recently announced the hiring of the Washburn University graduate, who works part-time as an officer for the Eudora Police Department.

At her new job, she will work with health professionals, law enforcement officers and social service workers to manage the day-to-day business of the board, which examines the circumstances of deaths of Kansas children and children who die while in the state.

Nordhus said she looked forward to working with Kline’s office and the board “to ensure all child death cases are thoroughly reviewed, and any possible actions that can prevent future deaths are implemented.”

Nordhus was also asked to join “The Driving Force,” a statewide task force to recommend strategies to reduce fatality and injury accidents on Kansas roads.
