Boston ? Randy Johnson had another rough outing, but Melky Cabrera’s four RBIs led the New York Yankees to an 8-6 victory over the Boston Red Sox despite two long homers by Manny Ramirez on Wednesday night.

Johnson (6-4) allowed at least five runs for the sixth time in eight starts before settling down after Jason Varitek’s single put Boston ahead 5-4 with no outs in the third. Johnson struck out the next three batters and retired nine of the last 10 he faced before leaving after five innings. His earned-run average rose from 5.62 to 5.89 while he allowed nine hits.

Seattle – Slumping Richie Sexson drove in three runs, and Jarrod Washburn earned his first win in May.

Chicago – Mark Buehrle gained his third straight win, allowing six hits in seven innings against a team that always has given him problems, and Chicago completed a three-game sweep.

Toronto – Carl Crawford had a career-high five hits, scored five runs and stole four bases to lead Tampa Bay.

Minneapolis – C.C. Sabathia made it look easy on the mound with a six-hitter, Casey Blake homered twice, and Cleveland frustrated Minnesota. Sabathia pitched his second straight complete game.
