Sunflower manager profiled in magazine

Patrick Knorr, director of strategic planning for The World Company and general manager of Sunflower Broadband, will be featured next week in Multichannel News, a cable industry trade publication.

Knorr, 33, will be included in the publication’s “40 under 40” feature, looking “at 40 power brokers under the age of 40 who are shaping the future of our industry,” editors of the publication said, previewing the issue that comes out Monday. “This special report will contain profiles of leading innovators and influencers at the networks, MSOs (multiple system operators) and companies that have made great strides in their field of expertise.”

Among others to be profiled: Gregory Clayman, vice president for wireless technology at MTV; Karen Driscoll, senior vice president for marketing and strategic marketing at Nickelodeon; John K. Martin, corporate executive vice president and chief financial officer at Time Warner Cable; and J.B. Perrette, senior vice president for new media and chief financial officer at NBC Universal.

Knorr also serves as vice chairman of the American Cable Assn., a not-for-profit trade group, and often testifies on the industry’s behalf before Congress.

“This really comes as no surprise; he is truly outstanding,” said Dan Simons, president of The World Company’s Electronics Division. “He has been consistently out in front with his ideas about the cable industry.”

The World Company owns Sunflower Broadband and the Journal-World.
