Free fishing days slated next month

Free fishing days in Kansas will be June 3-4.

The two days will give novice and seasoned anglers a chance to taste the fishing season without having to buy a license.

Kansas has one of the most diverse systems of reservoirs and waterways in the country, along with a variety of sportfish.

Black bass, bluegill, channel catfish, crappie, flathead catfish, striped bass, walleye, white bass and wipers are among the most popular species found in the state.

The free fishing days are held in conjunction with National Boating and Fishing Week.
