Clinton Lake

Water 2.10 feet above normal and 64 degrees. Temperature 64 degrees. Largemouth bass fair using deep running crankbaits and jigs. Walleye fair while drifting jig and nightcrawler around Clinton Point area. White bass good casting jigs off dam and vertical jigging in Clinton Point area. Wiper good on the flats on jig and nightcrawler. Channel catfish fair using worms in creeks and river during runoff events. Some being taken on shad guts, minnows and liver in lake. Crappie fair at 6-10 feet on jigs and minnows over rocky areas.

Perry Lake

Channel catfish good up the creeks when the water runs on worms or cut shad. Sauger fair off rocky points on west side toward dam on crankbaits and twisters. White bass fair off rocky points using twisters or shad-colored crankbaits. White crappie fair on tube jigs or minnows at 2-6 feet around flooded brush. Most crappie are down spawning.

Lone Star Lake

Largemouth bass fair. Anglers are picking some fish up on on grubs. A couple of five-pounders were caught this week. Crappie fair. Most being caught at 2-6 feet off rocky banks and brushpiles using minnows and jigs.

Douglas State Lake

(Updated 5-18)

Closed to fishing. Lake has been drained for repair of dam and water-intake line. Twenty fish habitat mounds were constructed last week.

Leavenworth State Lake

(Updated 5-18)

Largemouth bass fair using jigs, plastic worms and suspending crankbaits. Crappie fair using jigs off piers and in coves. Channel catfish fair using Bee-Jay around feeders. Feeders and aerator are operational.

Lake Shawnee

(Updated 5-18)

Channel catfish fair using nightcrawlers, shad entrails and liver. Wiper fair using jigs off points. Crappie fair from bank on jigs and minnows at 4-8 feet. Largemouth bass fair on crankbaits, jigs and plastic worms.

Pomona Lake

(Updated 5-15)

Water 3 feet above normal. Fishing should be good in discharge basin with 500 cfs release. Channel catfish good in discharge area using cut shad and prepared baits. Walleye good off windy points and dam using jigs and minnows. White bass/wiper good in upper end and flats with large minnows, or trolling shad and jigs. Crappie good close to bank using jigs or minnows, especially at night.
