Law enforcement report

¢ The guardian of a 16-year-old girl reported to police that a 19-year-old male acquaintance raped the girl March 12 at an apartment in west Lawrence. The incident was not reported until Monday after the guardian became aware of the situation. Police have forwarded a report to the district attorney’s office for possible charges.

¢ A 12-year-old boy was arrested for burning a trash can and playground equipment at Quail Run School, 1130 Inverness Drive. The fire happened Wednesday evening and caused about $2,100 in damage, police said.

¢ A 37-year-old Lecompton man was arrested late Wednesday for allegedly having sexual contact with an underage female acquaintance. The incident was reported to the sheriff’s office by social workers.

¢ Police arrested a 26-year-old Lawrence man Thursday night after the man’s girlfriend reported a physical altercation in the 2500 block of Redbud Lane.

Sgt. Susan Hadl, a police spokeswoman, said the man’s girlfriend told officers that he had attacked her during an argument. When she went to a neighbor’s apartment, he tried to physically force her to return, but she escaped his grasp, Hadl said.

The man then left the apartment complex. He later returned and was arrested without incident, Hadl said. He was booked into the Douglas County Jail at 7:36 p.m. on charges of kidnapping, domestic battery, intimidating a witness or victim, and theft of less than $500, according to jail records. His girlfriend was taken by ambulance to Lawrence Memorial Hospital, where she was treated and released, Hadl said.

¢ Kansas University Police responded to a report that a 19-year-old woman was passed out and vomiting in the lobby of Ellsworth Hall with possible alcohol poisoning, according to a report.

Police were called to the hall around 2 a.m. May 11, according to a police report made available Thursday. The woman was taken from the scene by Lawrence-Douglas County Fire & Medical for treatment, according to the report.

Burglaries and thefts reported

¢ More than $3,000 worth of tools, including a concrete saw and pole saw, were stolen after a door frame was damaged at the Brookwood Mobile Home Park, 1908 E. 19th St. The theft happened between 4:30 p.m. Tuesday and 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to a report.

Injury accidents

¢ A 24-year-old motorcyclist was injured late Tuesday when a Cadillac DeVille pulled in front of him near 25th Street and Ousdahl Road. Christian E. Nicoloff was taken by ambulance to Lawrence Memorial Hospital. The driver of the Cadillac, Jeremy R. Amouk, 30, Lawrence, was cited for no proof of insurance and inattentive driving.

Condition update

¢ Fred Potter, the Franklin County pedestrian struck by a vehicle Monday evening, remains at Overland Park Regional Medical Center in good condition, said Jean Hallinan, a hospital spokeswoman.
