Deadlines approach for FSA programs
June 1 is the deadline to enroll for this year’s Direct and Counter-cyclical Payment Program.
The DCP program is administered by the Farm Service Agency.
Farmers missing the deadline will pay $100 for each farm signed up late, said Johnathan Alley, executive director for the Douglas County FSA. Producers receive an annual direct payment for each eligible crop, based on a formula.
May 31 is the deadline for:
¢ certifying 2006 small grain acreages; such reports are requirements for being eligible for many FSA programs.
¢ obtaining commodity loans and loan deficiency payments on 2005 cotton, corn, milo, soybeans, sunflowers and some minor oilseeds.
¢ applying for a 2005 white wheat production payment under the Hard White Wheat Incentive Program.
