Law enforcement report

¢ Lawrence police officers cited a 57-year-old Lawrence man on a charge of disorderly conduct Saturday evening after they received a complaint about the man making threatening statements near the Sonic Drive-In, 1015 E. 23rd St.

Sgt. Michael Monroe, a police spokesman, said officers determined that the man made the threatening statements in a general way and not to a particular person. Officers also recovered a knife, but the man never took it out or directly threatened anyone with it, Monroe said. Officers did not arrest the suspect.

¢ Osage County Sheriff’s officers were still searching for one individual after a short car chase Saturday afternoon. A vehicle with four subjects fled a deputy, and eventually the four people ran away after the car stopped near U.S. Highway 75 and a low maintenance county road.

A juvenile female and two male Topeka residents were arrested within four hours, while officers are still searching for one more suspect, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office. The three suspects are being held on charges of felony obstruction until formal charges can be filed.
