Nurses honored
To the editor:
Annually, National Nurses Week began on May 6 and ends May 12, the birthday of Florence Nightingale, founder of nursing as a modern profession. In February 2005, Gov. Kathleen Sebelius signed a proclamation declaring 2005 through 2015 as the “Decade of the Nurse in Kansas.” In special honor of these events, the Douglas County district of the Kansas State Nurses Assn., KSNA District 17, salutes all nurses for their multifaceted contributions to health care every day of the year.
