Lions fall on eve of showdown

? Lawrence High’s baseball squad fell to Shawnee Mission East, 3-2, Wednesday night in the second game of a tough three-game stretch, and it doesn’t get any easier.

The Lions will face Free State at 7 tonight at Hoglund Ballpark.

The Lions (12-7) defeated SM Northwest on Tuesday night.

“It’s been a good test for our kids,” LHS coach Brad Stoll said, “and I’m pleased with how we responded. We’ll come back ready to play. We’ll be focused, locked in.”

Singles by Brett Sims and Daniel Parker were the Lions’ only hits against East.

Drew Hulse (1-1) took the loss.
