Arthur postpones decision a day

Darrell Arthur, Kansas University’s top recruiting basketball target, was supposed to end the suspense of what school he would be playing for next year with a news conference at 12:30 p.m. today, but postponed it, according to his high school coach, James Mays.

“I am still trying to figure out what is going on,” Mays told Rivals.com. “Darrell was supposed to announce his decision at 12:30 today, but it doesn’t sound like that is going to happen. I don’t exactly know what the problem is, but the press conference will not happen today. I believe that Darrell will definitely make his decision at a press conference tomorrow (Tuesday).”

Arthur, who has narrowed his choices down to Baylor, KU and LSU, is struggling with the pressure of picking the right college, his AAU coach and main adviser Jazzy Hartwell told The Dallas Morning News.

“I’m worried about him,” Hartwell told the newspaper. “He’s trying not to hurt anybody’s feelings.”

The Dallas Morning News is also reporting that a news conference is tentatively scheduled for noon Tuesday at the Moorland YMCA in Oak Cliff, where Arthur grew up playing and where Hartwell works.
