Retirement fun to be panel’s topic

To celebrate Older Americans Month, a panel will discuss “A Refreshing Look at Retirement” from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the Lawrence Public Library Auditorium.

The Vintage Players of the Lawrence Community Theater will perform. The panel will also talk about how to maximize the enjoyment of retirement years, including through volunteering, life-long learning and other ideas.

Presenters include Dave Ekerdt, director of the Gerontology Center at Kansas University; Marvin Hunt, director of Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at KU; Margaret Perkins-McGuinness, manager of the Roger Hill Volunteer Center; and Mitzi McFatrich, director of the Foundation on Aging.
