Injury accidents

¢ A vehicle collided with a Lawrence-Douglas Fire & Medical ambulance after being struck by another car Monday night on Sixth Street.

According to Lawrence Police, a car headed west on Sixth Street struck another car attempting to turn north onto Maine Street. The turning car then slid into the front of the ambulance, which was waiting at the stoplight.

Two people were transported to Lawrence Memorial Hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries. The paramedics in the ambulance were not injured, although the ambulance suffered front-end damage and was taken out of service.

Officers were still investigating the possibility that alcohol contributed to the wreck.
