Former Kansas University football player Justin Hartwig has signed a free agent contract with the Carolina Panthers that will make him one of the five highest-paid centers in the NFL. A sixth-round draft pick of the Tennessee Titans in 2002, Hartwig became the Titans’ starter at center in 2003. Hartwig agreed to a five-year contract worth $17 million.
