¢ Salvatore Shines: Genny Salvatore of Lawrence Gymnastics Club won the Level 10 beam and finished second in the vault at a meet in St. Petersburg, Fla. She was fifth in the all-around. Teammate Jen Hornbaker was sixth in floor exercise, seventh on the bars and eighth in all-around. LGC’s April Miller was sixth in the vault. At Level 7, Jacqueline Zaitz won the vault, was sixth on the beam and seventh in all-around. At Level 9, Ashley Sakumura was fifth on the bars, seventh on the beam and 10th in all-around.

¢ Hoopsters Runner-Up: Lawrence Hoopsters fourth-grade boys finished second in the Kansas USSSA basketball tournament in Shawnee and qualified for the national meet this summer in Fort Wayne, Ind.
