Area artists awarded in Mulvane Mountain fair

Three Kansans won awards at the 14th Annual Mulvane Mountain/Plains Art Fair on Saturday.

Best of Show was awarded to photographer Edward Robison III from Baldwin. Acrylics painter Celia Smith, of Lawrence, received the Best 2-Dimensional Artist Award, and clay and metals artist Larry Peters, from Topeka, received the Best 3-Dimensional Artist Award.

Jurors for the 2006 event were Rick Mitchell, of Lawrence, and Thomas Feulmer, of Dallas.

The Mulvane Mountain/Plains Art Fair is an annual fund-raising event organized by the Friends of the Mulvane Art Museum Inc. to benefit the Mulvane Art Museum. It takes place at Washburn University.
