Law enforcement report

¢ Lawrence Police are investigating whether two people were tampering with a parking ticket drop box in the 1100 block of Massachusetts Street. On Wednesday night a motorist reported seeing a man and a woman at the box and told police it appeared the man was attempting to break into the box. No arrests have been made, and it was not known if anything was taken from the box.

¢ A 35-year-old Lawrence man was arrested for driving under the influence and having a revoked driver’s license Thursday night after police were called to the 700 block of Fox Chase Court about a man acting suspiciously. A man had attempted to coax a 15-year-old girl and a 35-year-old woman into his pickup truck. He drove away after being confronted by another man. Police stopped the truck in the area of Congressional Drive and Harvard Road.

¢ Two patrons of the Taco Bell, 1220 W. Sixth St., called police Monday after they became suspicious of dried stains they found on the inside of two food boxes. Police are having the stains tested to see if they are dried blood, paint or something else. Employees at the restaurant were checked and no one was found to have suffered an injury.

¢ A Leavenworth County sheriff’s officer arrested a 38-year-old Leavenworth man and a 33-year-old Leavenworth woman at 12:51 a.m. Friday after the officer found suspected marijuana and pills during a traffic stop on Kansas Highway 192 near Second Street in Easton, according to a report.

Burglaries and thefts reported

¢ A 2000 Mazda Protege was damaged in a vandalism incident reported to police Thursday morning. A 26-year-old Lawrence woman told police she had parked the car in the 800 block of Massachusetts Street.

¢ Someone took four laptop computers, valued at $8,000, between May 22 and Wednesday from a room in Haworth Hall, according to a report from the Kansas University Public Safety Office.
