FCE and 4-H news

Stull Family and Community Education unit will meet at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Illuminated Glass in Stull. The lesson will be “Glass Blowing.” Members should bring a nonperishable food item for donation.

The Four Leaf Clover 4-H Club met May 8 at the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds.

Jessica Gibler, president, called the meeting to order. Roll call was answered by “I can do 100 … .”

The Douglas County Fair book is online this year. The Web site is www.dgcountyfair.com. Members were reminded that the deadline for pre-entering fair projects is June 30. There will be a scarecrow contest and a birthday cake contest at the fair this year.

The club will be participating in Relay for Life, which is June 9-10. The arts and crafts group will make luminaries, the foods group will make snacks, and the clothing group will make the banner.

The clothing group gave a project talk on how to sew on a button. For recreation Louis Hamel led the club in playing “Red Light, Green Light.”

The next meeting will be at 7:15 p.m. June 12 at in Building 1 at the fairgrounds.
