Weed Fest to celebrate pesticide-free parks
Bring a blanket and your favorite weeding tool.
A festival Saturday morning in Buford M. Watson Jr. Park will celebrate the city’s “pesticide-free parks” effort.
The “Weed Fest,” from 9 a.m. to noon, features refreshments, live music and information about the city’s 34 pesticide-free parks. Event-goers also will be able to learn about edible weeds and how to adopt a flower bed.
Or, if they get the urge, they can pull some weeds on the spot.
