Police hope video helps ID Jayhawk suspects

Police are seeking the public’s help in solving a violent, caught-on-camera attack – against a fiberglass Jayhawk.

Lawrence Police on Friday released surveillance video from an incident early July 16 outside Jayhawk Bookstore, 1420 Crescent Road, in which a group of people ripped the “Bit o’ Hawk” statue off its base, sawed off one of its legs and took it with them.

The video can be seen online at www.ljworld.com. Anyone who can identify the suspects or has other information about the crime is asked to call the Crime Stoppers hot line at 843-TIPS.
