Postal letter to be sent

Commissioners agreed to send a letter to U.S. Postal Service officials saying that they wouldn’t oppose the post office moving its distribution operations out of downtown.

But commissioners did spell out in the letter that they think downtown should always have a full-service post office where people can send and receive mail and access post office boxes.

Postal Service leaders have not yet committed – nor publicly indicated that they’re even willing – to move any portion of their downtown post office operations.
