Fishing report

Clinton Lake

Water .02 feet above normal and 83 degrees. Feeders operational. Channel catfish excellent using stinkbait, minnows and liver in lake. Outlet is also producing, mostly on nightcrawlers. Walleye fair. Some still being caught with jig and nightcrawler, by trolling crankbaits and by swimming jigs over structure. Some being caught on minnows. White bass and wiper fair while vertically jigging Clinton Point and casting jigs off windy points. Crappie poor. Most fish being caught on jigs over brushpiles.

Perry Lake

Channel catfish fair to good with spawn over and fish moving out to feed. Feeders activitated at 7 a.m., 8 a.m., noon, 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. Sauger fair on rocky points and Rock Creek using crankbaits or twisters. White bass fair off rocky points using twisters or shad colored crankbaits. White crappie fair to good on tube jigs and minnows at 10-16 feet around structure.

Lone Star Lake

Largemouth bass good mainly on grubs in early morning and late evening. Channel catfish good using stinkbait. Bluegill fair using worms and crickets below bobber. Crappie poor using jigs in deep water.

Douglas State Lake

Closed to fishing. Repairs have been completed. Valve was closed June 26. More fish habitat work was completed last week.

Leavenworth State Lake

Largemouth bass fair using white or yellow spinnerbaits and grubs. Bluegill fair using worms, small spinners and jigs. Channel catfish fair using prepared baits, livers and nightcrawlers around feeders and off piers. Note: Feeders working, but aerator off due to electrical problems.

Lake Shawnee

Channel catfish fair using nightcrawlers, stinkbait and liver. Largemouth bass fair on crankbaits, jigs and plastic worms. Bluegill fair on worms under bobber and with small spinners.

Pomona Lake

(Updated 7-7)

Channel catfish excellent in outlet area and lakewide using prepared baits and liver by the feeders. Walleye poor off windy points and flats using jigs tipped with worm on minnows. White bass/wipers fair in the flats with large minnows or while trolling shad or crankbaits. Crappie fair using jigs or minnows at 10-16 feet. Note: This is a good time to catch carp either with a flyrod or by bowfishing. Work the shallows downwind of the fish feeders.
