Pull out the sunglasses and put on some sunscreen.

"It's a dry start, with a lot of sunshine," said Jennifer Schack, 6News meteorologist. "It looks like a great day to get outside. "

Temperatures will climb through the 70s this morning before topping out at 84 degrees late this afternoon, Schack said.

And that's cooler than normal - the average high temperature for this date is 90 degrees, Schack said. The record high was 108 degrees, set in 1911, she said.

At 7:15 a.m., Lawrence Municipal Airport's temperature was 64 degrees, the humidity was 81 percent and winds were out of the northeast at 5 mph.

This morning's low was 66 degrees. The average low temperature for this date is 69 degrees. The record low was 51 degrees, set in 1972.

Overnight, the low will drop to 56 degrees, Schack said.

Thursday will be mostly sunny again, with the high temperature climbing to 87 degrees, she said.

Friday's morning low will be 58 degrees, with mostly sunny skies through the day. Friday's afternoon high temperature will be 89 degrees, Schack said.
