Headquarters Counseling Center will conduct an informational meeting for its upcoming spring training session from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Lawrence Public Library, 707 Vt. Prospective volunteers should attend the informational meeting to learn more about the training and responsibilities of a Headquarters counselor. Immediate volunteer needs

¢ The Douglas County Court Appointed Special Advocate program is looking for volunteers to participate in a training session beginning Feb. 16. Volunteers advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children who are under the protection of the court. Volunteers must be 21 years old and willing to commit to a case for a minimum of one year. Volunteers will undergo a background check. ¢ Lawrence Memorial Hospital seeks volunteers to fill a variety of positions. Volunteers must make a commitment of three to six months for three to four hours per week. Volunteers are needed at the main LMH and LMH South sites to assist staff in transporting patients by wheelchair, preparing rooms, delivering errands within the hospital, greeting visitors and cashiering in the gift shop.
