Another day in the 50s

Warm winter weather continuing

Lawrence is in store for another mild winter day – mostly sunny skies, northwest winds and temperatures in the low 50s.

“It looks like the same old weather pattern — (temperatures) above average and dry conditions,” said Jennifer Schack, 6News meteorologist.

At 12:08 p.m., Lawrence’s temperature was 47 degrees, the humidity was 50 percent and winds were from the west at 16 mph, gusting to 21 mph, making the windchill 41 degrees.

Schack said today’s high will climb to 52 degrees, with mostly sunny skies and northwest winds at 8 to 15 mph. The average high for this date is 41 degrees and the average low is 21. The record high for this date was 65 in 1988. The record low was minus 7 in 1966.

Overnight, skies will be mostly clear, with the low temperature reaching 26 degrees by early Tuesday morning, Schack said.

Tuesday’s high temperature will climb to a balmy 61 degrees, with mostly sunny skies, she said.

Wednesdays morning low will be 32 degrees, climbing to a high temperature of 55 degrees by Wednesday aftenoon, with partly cloudy skies, she said.
