Representatives from the Brown v. Board of Education National Historic Site in Topeka toured Kansas University’s Spencer Research Library Thursday.

The event was attended by Cheryl Brown Henderson, president of the Brown Foundation for Educational Equity, Excellence and Research and daughter of Oliver Brown, who filed the Brown v. Board lawsuit.

The historic site hopes to better educate its staff about KU’s extensive collections documenting the black experience in Kansas and the region.

The site’s staff visited to learn more about KU’s collection so they can better direct people to the information they need in the future. The historic site also plans to establish a relationship for turning over items to the library.
