Seabury boys, girls fall at West Franklin Invitational

— Seabury Academy's boys basketball squad led by seven with three minutes left in the game, but the Seahawks didn't score again and lost, 49-46, to Class 3A foe Pomona on Monday in the West Franklin Invitational Tournament.

Grayson Dillon scored 19 and Adam Davis 18 for the Seahawks.

"We just missed free throws down the stretch," coach Marcus Heckman said. "It was a tough loss. It was one of those nights, I'll tell you."

Seabury (4-6) will play Williamsburg today in the tournament.

Ottawa - Lindsey Ahlen scored seven points for the Seahawks, who didn't score in the first or fourth quarter against a tough Central Heights defense at the West Franklin Invitational Tournament.

"We get so frustrated, and we just can not get into our offense," Seabury coach Nick Taylor said. "We had 33 turnovers tonight - one of those games where we just kept throwing the ball away and couldn't stop them."

Seabury (4-6) will play Williamsburg today in the tourney.
