A Basehor man was killed Wednesday afternoon after he was struck by a minivan on 174th Street northeast of Basehor.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, about 3:50 p.m., John F. Frame, 65, was on the east side of the road walking south. A 1999 Pontiac minivan, driven by Betty J. Scheller, 77, Basehor, also was headed south.

Just north of Donahoo Road, the minivan traveled left of the center line and struck Frame. He was pronounced dead at the scene. According to the accident report, his wife was with him.
