Historic preservation plan put on hold

Approval of the county’s heritage preservation plan was put on hold Monday by the Douglas County Commission.

The plan, which outlines guidelines and goals for preserving the county’s historic sites, is a revised chapter for Horizon 2020, the county’s planning document.

Commissioners said they wanted to wait until new county subdivision regulations were approved so they could make sure the two documents didn’t conflict.

The subdivision regulations are scheduled to be discussed by the City-County Planning Commission March 15.
