Kaws erupt late

P-L trips Mill Valley; Santa Fe Trail wins

— Going into the fourth quarter down by six, Perry-Lecompton's Maggie McPherson scored 11 of her game-high 13 points, helping the Kaws earn a 41-35 victory against Mill Valley.

"It was a mild upset," Perry-Lecompton coach Mark Armstrong said. "They were kind of expected to win because they had beaten some teams that we had lost to in conference."

Ashleigh Allam had a big night on the boards for Perry-Lecompton, coming down with 12 rebounds.

Perry-Lecompton (7-10) will travel Friday to Santa Fe Trail.

Santa Fe Trail 42, Basehor-Linwood 31

Carbondale - Santa Fe Trail's Tori Rutter had a game-high 13 points, and Brooke Pryor led the Chargers on the boards with 10 rebounds. SFT (11-6) will play host Friday to Perry-Lecompton.

Baldwin 40, Louisburg 37

Baldwin - After trailing by two at halftime, Baldwin's defense held Louisburg to just a free throw in the third quarter. Katelyn Miles, who had a team-high 13 points, hit two free throws with six seconds remaining to give the Bulldogs the victory.

Eudora 61, Central Heights 45

Richmond - Eudora's Erin Kracl had a game-high 23 points. Carrie Lister was the only other Cardinals' player to finish with double-digits, tallying 14.

Tonganoxie 63, K.C. Piper 33

Kansas City, Kan. - Ali Pistora scored 19, and Rachel Bogard had 18 for Tonganoxie (16-1), which will travel Friday to Mill Valley.
