Mavs dismantle Knicks

? The latest game against the Dallas Mavericks showed just how bad things have gotten for the New York Knicks.

A month ago in New York, the Knicks scored the most points anybody has against Dallas this season in their fifth of six straight victories.

In the rematch Monday night, Dirk Nowitzki had 21 points to lead six players in double figures for the Mavericks in a 100-72 victory. The Knicks had their season-low in points while losing their 10th straight game, their longest losing streak in 21 years.

“I don’t enjoy this feeling,” said Larry Brown, in his first Knicks season after taking Detroit to the consecutive NBA Finals. “I feel for those guys in the dressing room. We have to figure out a way to get one.”

The Knicks (14-37) lost for the 16th time in 17 games. They never had a chance against the Mavericks, who avoided a losing streak.

Jason Terry had three of the Mavericks’ season-high six three-pointers in the first quarter, and they quickly went ahead to stay. It was 35-25 by the end of the first after consecutive three-pointers in a 30-second span by Keith Van Horn, both on assists from Devin Harris.
