Eudora ? Guy Montgomery hit the front end of a 1-and-1 with 2.4 seconds remaining, giving Eudora a dramatic 37-36 victory over Kansas City Sumner on Friday night in high school boys basketball.

The Cardinals withstood a 10-0 Sabre run to start the game, tying it in the second half with a nine-point spurt of their own to knot it at 18.

With the victory, Eudora received a bit of revenge after losing to Sumner by 40 points last season.

Rodney Spillman led Eudora with 10 points.

The Cardinals (10-4) will play Tuesday at Wellsville.

McLouth – Pleasant Ridge built a 12-point halftime lead and went on to defeat McLouth. Trevor Keling led the Bulldogs with 14 points.

McLouth fell to 4-10, while Pleasant Ridge improved to 11-3.

Henderson, who signed a letter of intent with UAB, scored 26 points and helped the Sabres take control in a 30-point third quarter.

Michelle Deluna led Eudora with 17 points, while Nikki Snider added 15.

Sumner improved to 13-2.

The Panthers, ranked No. 10 in the latest 5A poll, played to their ranking early. Paola outscored De Soto 21-4 in the opening quarter to take a commanding lead.

Brittney Miller contributed inside and out for Paola, scoring in the post and also draining a three for a game-high 23 points.

Kira Gonzalez and Jessica Blankenship both hit double figures for De Soto.
