Missing woman’s body found in Franklin county

The body of a 47-year-old Osage County woman reported missing nearly two weeks ago was found by hunters early this morning in a wooded area along a rural road near the Franklin-Osage county line, according to the Osage County sheriff’s office.

Tonie Standley, 47, was last seen alive Dec. 7 in Quenemo. Her live-in boyfriend reported her missing on Dec. 9.

“It’s a suspicious death. She’s been missing for two weeks, and she’s located out in an area where no one lives,” sheriff Laurie Dunn said. “We’re conducting the investigation from there.”

Dunn said she couldn’t comment on how Standley died and that an autopsy was being conducted Friday.
