Playing in a bowl game offers a college football team many opportunities.

It could be the chance for a national championship. A class of seniors could end their final season on a high note. An up-and-coming team has the opportunity to get in a few extra weeks of practice.

One big benefit for the players is the gift package they receive from the bowl game in which they are playing. Rings, watches, sweatshirts, iPods, video games, cameras and even tanning lotion are some of the items bowls will be giving to players this postseason.

The bowl goodie bags are allowed to have a value of $500 per player. With each team receiving 125 gift packages, that adds up to $62,500 in gifts for each school.
