¢ Davis Hole in one: Rich Davis used a 3-iron to ace the 120-yard, par-3 third hole at Eagle Bend on Aug. 24. Heath Harmon and Steve Anthony witnessed the shot.

¢ Eagle Bend Lessons: Lawrence Parks and Recreation will offer golf lessons for adults this fall. Classes meet once a week for four weeks from 6 to 7 p.m. at Eagle Bend. They are available for both the beginning and advanced golfer. For more information, see lprd.org or call 748-0600.

¢ Couples League Tournament: The next couples-league event at Eagle Bend will be 5 p.m., Sept. 16. There will be nine holes of golf, pot luck and prizes.

¢ Speed Clinic: Former Kentucky All-American sprinter Christian Adair will conduct a speed clinic Sept. 4-6 at the Lawrence High track. The clinic is open to all ages and all sports participants. For information, call (859) 519-7431.

¢ Kansas River run: The 15th annual Sandrat Trail Run will be held Sunday, Oct. 1. The 9.5-mile race will begin at 8:30 a.m. near Ballard Center and will be run mostly on Kansas River trails. For information, contact Steve or Marcia Riley at 842-4351 or srmriley@sunflower.com.

¢ Youth basketball: Lawrence Parks & Recreation is accepting registration for children in grades K-6 interested in participating in the 2006 youth basketball program. To register, stop by any recreatoin center or register online at lprd.org. Registration deadline is Sept. 20.
