Heading up to 90 degrees

It looks like another hot, sunny day ahead, says Jennifer Schack, 6News meteorologist.

“We’re heading back to the upper 80s later this afternoon,” Schack said. Today’s high temperature will top out at 90 degrees, she said.

At 6:45 a.m., Lawrence Municipal Airport’s temperature was 66 degrees, the humidity was 90 percent and winds were calm.

“Get used to the 90s; it looks like they’ll be here for a couple of days,” Schack said. Today’s winds will be from the east at 5 to 10 mph.

Overnight, temperatures will fall to 64 by early Tuesday morning, Schack said. Tuesday’s afternoon high will be 92, with mostly clear skies, she said.

Wednesday’s morning low will be 72, with Wednesday’s afternoon high climbing to 94 under partly cloudy skies, she said.

The next chance for rain is early Saturday, she said.
