Pittsburgh ? So far this preseason, it’s been one and done for Ben Roethlisberger. One series and he’s done and, for the most part, so is the Pittsburgh Steelers’ offense.

Brad Johnson and rookie Tarvaris Jackson each threw for a touchdown and the Minnesota Vikings got production from starters and backups alike in beating the Steelers, 17-10, Saturday night.

Roethlisberger, a surprise starter because of his right thumb injury, threw for a touchdown on the Steelers’ opening drive while running a version of the no-huddle. After that, the offense basically shut down for the rest of the game.

Just as in a 21-13 loss to Arizona last weekend, the Steelers’ execution was spotty, with mistakes, incorrect pass routes and turnovers.

“We knew it would be a hostile crowd, but we wanted to go out and see how we stand against the Super Bowl champions,” said cornerback Ronyell Whitaker, who had a sack and a forced fumble.

Panthers 17, Jaguars 10

Jacksonville, Fla. – Backup quarterback David Garrard mostly struggled with – and against – the starters, fumbling three times, throwing an interception and getting sacked once in Jacksonville’s loss.

Dolphins 13, Bucs 10

Tampa, Fla. – Daunte Culpepper played into the second quarter, completing 7 of 9 passes for 86 yards and leading a nine-minute touchdown drive after producing little offense on Miami’s first three possessions.

Packers 38, Falcons 10

Green Bay, Wis. – Brett Favre led the Packers on their first two touchdown drives of the preseason in the first half, leading Green Bay over Atlanta.

Jets 27, Redskins 14

Landover, Md. – Brad Smith ran 61 yards for a touchdown on a double reverse, and Leon Washington returned a kickoff 87 yards for a score for New York.

Texans 27, Rams 20

St. Louis – Mario Williams looked more like the No. 1 pick of the draft in his second preseason game, drawing St. Louis into a pair of penalties, batting down a pass to force a punt and tackling running back Tony Fisher for a 3-yard loss.

Patriots 30, Cardinals 3

Foxborough, Mass. – Matt Leinart started strong before struggling in the second half in Arizona’s loss. He finished the game 4-of-11 for 49 yards.

Broncos 35, Titans 10

Denver – Rookie Mike Bell scored on a pair of 1-yard runs to lead Denver’s rout.
